Soviet Hi-Tech

This plant located in a small town was the main production center for specialized laboratory equipment. The products of this plant stood in many Soviet research institutes. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the plant lasted about 20 years and then was abandoned. Let's take a look at the remnants of Soviet high-tech.

The factory has several workshops, but we will take a look at the most interesting one. The assembly shop.
Its roof has not been renovated for a long time, so there is moss and algae on the constantly wet floor.
The production areas are separated from each other.
There are posters about the products of the plant and historical chronicles.
Storage.
Blueprint.
The main section of the workshop, where electron microscopes and mass spectrometers were assembled from a variety of small parts into a single unit.
Before and after.
Unfinished electron microscope.
Decay.
I will duplicate photos from the stand with old pictures of the assembly shop.
Quality control area.
The assembly line is blocked by a gate with a radiation sign.
Before opening it let's take look at the high-voltage testing site.
The gate turns out to be closed from the inside. We go through the personnel door.
This is where the mass spectrometers were set up.
Down the corridor are small tool areas and test facilities for manufactured products. Heat and cold chamber.
Tightness control.
The remnants of finished products that were tested.
The computer that controlled the testing processes. It used tapes but they are decayed.
Climatothermobaroclave.
Smaller thermoclave.
Climatothermobaroclave and vibration chamber on the right.
That's all.
Until we meet again!
